There can be many different causes of infertility in females, including:

1. Ovulation disorders: Problems with ovulation can make it difficult for a woman to become pregnant. Conditions that can cause ovulation disorders include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid problems, and hyperprolactinemia.

2. Fallopian tube damage or blockage: Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes can prevent the egg from reaching the uterus or the sperm from reaching the egg.

3. Endometriosis: Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of it, which can lead to scarring and adhesions that can interfere with fertility.

4. Uterine or cervical abnormalities: Abnormalities of the uterus or cervix can make it difficult for a fertilized egg to implant or for a woman to carry a pregnancy to term.

5. Age: As women age, their fertility naturally declines. After age 35, the number and quality of a woman’s eggs decrease, which can make it more difficult to conceive.

6. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID): PID is an infection of the female reproductive organs that can lead to scarring and damage to the fallopian tubes.

7. Other factors: Other factors that can contribute to infertility in women include obesity, smoking, alcohol use, certain medications, and certain medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders.
